Calling all Nashvillians looking to break into the film industry, the new series titled Nashville, is looking for extras. Hey! Don’t knock it. Harrison Ford started out as an extra, having a small part waiting a table. Like Prometheus’ David says, “Big things have small beginnings.” This could be yours!

A little about the show: Nashville is a new series from ABC and Lionsgate that centers around an ‘aging’ country singer, looking to prolong her career and dealing with a fading limelight when a young, headstrong songstress comes on the Nashville scene. The official synopsis is: legendary country music icon Rayna Jaymes (Connie) struggles to maintain her place in the spotlight (and from some of the trailers, a little bit of marriage drama) while dealing with the ambitious rising pop vixen Juliette Barnes (Hayden).

The show stars Connie Britton (of Friday Night Lights) and Hayden Panettiere (of Heroes fame, ‘Save the Cheerleader, Save the World!’). If you know me, you know that I have been a fan of Hayden ever since Heroes, and I’m a fan of Nashville! So I will be watching. Learn more about the show and play a few cool games by visiting ABC’s site for the show; http://beta.abc.go.com/shows/nashville. The show debuts October 10, tune in!

According to the casting call on HobNobNashville.com, there will be 8 to 10 hours shifts with a rate of $8 an hour and no restrictions on who can be an extra. Everyone is being encouraged to come to the casting office no matter ethnicity or age. Obviously, kids, you’ll need your parents approval and attendance. Where might you be able to take part in this wonderful opportunity? Contact the agency through OnLocationCasting.net and complete the talent application, which is free to complete. You can also email a recent photo, your first and last name, height, weight and contact information to nashvilleextras@gmail.com

It should be noted that filming typically last 10-12 hours (over time available) and takes place Monday through Friday.
