Just because I often have to explain what has changed over the course of time when reviewing websites, I thought SEOMoz does a great job of tracking the algorithm changes (Google). Visit http://www.seomoz.org/google-algorithm-change to see the chart.
The latest [confirmed] algo change? According to Mashable, Hummingbird is the company’s most significant algorithm change since Google switched to “Caffeine” back in 2010. There was one in August that focused on shuffling things around on SERPs and one focused on Press Releases that may have been associated with Hummingbird.
We know that moving forward, Google will not be giving out as much details so make sure to check the blog for the latest industry accepted updates.
